Overhaul
Overview
Overhaul explores the intersection of sustainability, storytelling, and Indian textile heritage. The project focuses on reviving and spotlighting traditional techniques such as patchwork, appliqué, and fabric reuse to create visuals that reflect fashion’s potential as both an expressive and ethical medium. Through carefully styled looks and concept-driven imagery, Overhaul critiques the fast fashion cycle while honoring the hands and histories behind handcrafted garments.
Challenge
In a world dominated by fast fashion’s disposable culture, traditional Indian crafts are often overlooked or undervalued. There’s a disconnect between fashion consumers and the origins of their clothing — a lack of awareness about the time, skill, and cultural depth behind handcrafted textiles.
Response
Overhaul presents a fashion narrative rooted in craft, care, and sustainability. Through art direction that embraces texture, imperfection, and layered storytelling, the visuals highlight the richness of slow-made fashion.
